The Foundation aims to raise the profile of civil engineering among potential students and to promote it as a career of choice.
Firms and organisations are invited to contribute to a fund which finances a range of activities aimed at increasing the number of students undertaking Civil Engineering, enhancing their experience at UWA, and providing them with opportunities to interact with industry.
The Foundation fosters formal links between the students and firms and organisations that employ civil engineers, such as consulting engineers, builders and contractors, government agencies, and mining and resource companies. It provides a vehicle for students to gain access to work experience, industry mentoring, scholarships and other financial incentives.
The fund is held in the School of Civil and Resource Engineering at UWA, and is administered by the School’s Industry Advisory Panel, which comprises representative directors and senior engineers from leading local firms.
Both Membership and Sponsorship are tax deductible operating expenses.
