Facilities, testing and consulting services

We provide laboratory testing and consulting services in hydraulics and fluid mechanics for industry:

Our facilities include a wind tunnel, wave and current flumes, O-tune facilities and underwater jetting. Our laboratories are equipped with state-of-art measurement devices such as hot-wire anemometer, ADV, laster profilers, pressure and force transducers.

We have developed Computation Fluid Dynamics (CFD) packages that can be used in research and consulting projects. The packages developed so far include SCOUR-2D, SCOUR-MPI-3D, RANS-2D and RANS-MPI-3D.

SCOUR-2D and SCOUR-3D are two-dimensional and three-dimensional local scour simulation programs respectively that are able to simulate local scour around various structures under steady currents, waves and combined waves and currents conditions.

RANS-2D and RANS-MPI-3D are two-dimensional and three-dimensional Reynolds Averaged Navier-Stokes equation solvers respectively that are able to simulate hydrodynamic forces on slender objects and vortex-induced vibrations of pipelines and risers subject to steady currents, waves and combined waves and currents.
